Place chicken breast, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and smoked paprika in a medium pot and bring to a boil over high heat.
Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F / 74°C at the thickest part.
Remove chicken from the pot and let rest for 5 minutes on a cutting board.
Shred the chicken using two forks, pulling the meat apart into thin strands.
